Academic Year Calendar 
Tuesday 8 September 2026 through Friday 25 June 2027

Lessons are available from Monday through Friday, generally during the afternoon and evening.

Dates listed below are the only times when Mallimo Piano Studio will be closed.​

• The Studio functions as a private music school on its own 10-month calendar, independent of any public or private school district calendars. 
• The academic year is divided into two 5-month semesters:  Fall/Winter (8 September 2026 - 31 January 2027) and Winter/Spring (1 February 2027 - 25 June 2027).
• Students must attend weekly lessons throughout the semester. 
• Regular attendance is expected for all other dates not marked on the calendar. Please refer to the Studio Policy for cancellation guidelines if a student will miss a lesson when the studio is not closed.

Fall/Winter Semester 2026
September

• 7  Monday - Labor Day, Studio Closed
• 8 Tuesday – Fall/Winter Semester begins, Lessons Resume

October

• The studio has no scheduled days off this month.

November

• 26 Thursday and 27 Friday – Thanksgiving Break, Studio Closed

December

• 24 Thursday through 31 Thursday – Winter Break, Studio Closed

January

• 1 Friday – New Year’s Day, Studio Closed
• 4 Monday – Fall/Winter Semester Resumes

• 29 Friday - Fall/Winter Semester Ends

Winter/Spring Semester 2027
February

• 1 Monday - Winter/Spring Semester Begins
• The studio has no scheduled days off this month.

March

• The Studio has no scheduled days off this month.

April

• The Studio has no scheduled days off this month. 

May

• 31 Monday  - Memorial Day, Studio Closed

June

• 12 Saturday - Spring Recitals Nos. 1 & 2 @Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Montclair (specific morning/afternoon times TBA)
• 13 Sunday - Spring Recitals Nos. 3 & 4 @Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Montclair (specific afternoon times TBA)
• 25 Friday - Winter/Spring Semester Ends
• 28 Monday – Summer Term begins (see Summer Policy/Calendar)
